حديث النبي الذي حرق عش النمل
The prophet who burned the nest of ants
One of the Glorious and Holy Name of ALLAH is ( The All-Just One ) , and the supreme and ultimate justice of ALLAH SWT is beyond imagination . look at this great Hadith of the Honourable Prophet Muhammad SAW and you know that ALLAH SWT is truly the All-Just One .
the meaning of this great Hadith as follow :
Once ,one of the honourable Prophets sat down somewhere may be under a tree or whatever , but it seems that he sat down near to a nest of ants . It seems that one of the ants get to him and bit him and it seems that he was angry , so he asked one of his followers to burn the whole nest ( colony ) of ants ...
ALLAH SWT strongly blamed that prophet and condemned him for burning the whole nest of ants , just because one single ant bit him ( as mentioned in the Hadith) .
This great Hadith of Prophet Muhammad SAW shows how supreme and ultimate is the Justice of ALLAH SWT and also it icludes a very important and deep meanings :
this great Hadith means that ALLAH SWT never takes the side of an oppressor even if that oppressor was an Honourable Prophet and even if the victim was just ants , that have no value to some people , but of course those ants have a value to ALLAH SAW .
also this great Hadeeth shows that ALLAH prohibits oppression not only against people but also if was a gainst any of his creations even ants .
All Glory, Praisre , Honour and Glory to ALLAH SWT , The All mighty GOD , The All- Just One and The Great Lord of the Heavens and the Earth .
الحديث الشريف ( الروايات والسند ) :
الرواية الاولى
حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ، وَحَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالاَ أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، وَأَبِي، سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " أَنَّ نَمْلَةً قَرَصَتْ نَبِيًّا مِنَ الأَنْبِيَاءِ فَأَمَرَ بِقَرْيَةِ النَّمْلِ فَأُحْرِقَتْ فَأَوْحَى اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ أَفِي أَنْ قَرَصَتْكَ نَمْلَةٌ أَهْلَكْتَ أُمَّةً مِنَ الأُمَمِ تُسَبِّحُ " .
الرواية الثانية
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، وَأَبِي، سَلَمَةَ أَنَّ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " قَرَصَتْ نَمْلَةٌ نَبِيًّا مِنَ الأَنْبِيَاءِ، فَأَمَرَ بِقَرْيَةِ النَّمْلِ فَأُحْرِقَتْ، فَأَوْحَى اللَّهُ إِلَيْهِ أَنْ قَرَصَتْكَ نَمْلَةٌ أَحْرَقْتَ أُمَّةً مِنَ الأُمَمِ تُسَبِّحُ اللَّهِ."

Translations :
1) Translation :
Abu Huraira reported
Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
An ant had bitten a Prophet (one amongst the earlier Prophets) and
he ordered that the colony of the ants should be burnt. And Allah revealed to
him:” Because of an ant’s bite you have burnt a community from amongst the
communities which sings My glory.”

Narrated Abu Hurairah (ra):
I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying, "An ant bit a Prophet amongst the Prophets, and
he ordered that the place of the ants be burnt. So, Allah inspired to him, 'It
is because one ant bit you that you burnt a nation amongst the nations that
glorify Allah?"

Was narrated from Abu Hurairah from the Messenger of Allah:
"An ant bit one of the prophets, and he ordered that the ant
nest be burned. Then Allah revealed to him: "One ant bit you, and you
destroyed one of the nations that glorify Allah."

Abu Hurairah reported Messenger of Allah (May peace be upon him)
as saying :
An ant stung a prophet. He ordered a colony of ants to be burned.
Allah revealed to him : because an ant stung you, you have perished a community
which glorifies Me.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Prophet of Allah (ﷺ) said:
“One of the Prophets was bitten by an ant, so he ordered that the
ant colony be burned. Then Allah revealed to him: ‘Because one ant bit you, you
destroy one of the nations that glorify Allah?’”
